Spotted the 2026 Outback in San Francisco, what do you think?

Wish we had a better look at the rear. Always with these vertical shots. Turn the phone sideways, people.

Here is another angle

Not easy to turn the phone when you’re driving and taking the pic at the same time.

Not bad at all. Was worried they’d make it too tall and SUV-like. Looks like a smoothed-out version of the 2020-22 Outback. Glad they made the grille smaller, it was too big on the last one.

I actually like the plastic cladding they’ve been adding. Helps protect rust-prone areas.

It’s still an SUV, though. Legally classified as one since they stopped calling it a Legacy Outback.

@Niall
Yeah, but it still feels more like a lifted wagon. My first car was an ‘05 Outback, and my 2018 still feels closer to that than to most SUVs.

Please get rid of the massive touchscreen and bring back buttons.

Physical climate controls will be back. Infotainment is going horizontal instead of vertical.

I miss the three rotary knobs for climate control. So much easier.

Can they do that for the Forester redesign too?

@Finian
Not yet, Forester was just redesigned.

The big screen is awful. Worst part of my ‘22.

Yeah, physical buttons are just easier to use.

Are we sure this is the Outback and not the Ascent redesign? That one hasn’t been updated in a while.

Yeah, it’s the Outback.
