Subaru Impreza Three Check Lights Help

Hello! Looking for some additional insight as I am not finding what I am looking for online.

2018 Subaru Impreza Hatchback Base Model.

ABS, Hill Start, and Traction Control Lights all turned on during 500 mile roadtrip.

Loss in power steering.

This happened yesterday after hour, and no mechanic will look at the car till after the holidays.

Two questions - has anyone run into this before and do they know what broke or how to diagnose what happened?

Is the car safe to drive?

Many thanks.

Your problem is most likely relegated to the ABS/VDC system, but as for what happened/what broke, not enough info.

My guess is the wheel speed sensors, wheel bearings, or ABS tone ring. That system is real finicky. A mechanic you trust should be able to check all that out. I do it a lot and I haven’t charged anyone before, unless they have me replace a wheel bearing.

@Beryl
It should be one of the three. I doubt it’s going to be very hard to fix.

The lights mean something is wrong. We can’t tell you much beyond that. Buy a cheap code reader so in the future you can scan the codes, and get a little bit more direction.

Same three lights came on when rats chewed through my wiring.

Go to an auto parts store and they’ll run the codes for you for free, then report back with said codes.

First things first, make sure your gas cap is on all the way. Pretty sure that can throw a code which will disable those things. Someone correct me if I’m wrong.

The hill start and traction control are dependent on the braking system, so the lights all come on at once - it’s probably that. Any work done recently? The power steering is odd… it’s electronic in the Impreza, right?
