XT models are great, but fuel economy isn’t as good as advertised. Still worth it for the extra power.

Yeah, if you drive aggressively, it burns a lot more fuel. If you keep the boost low and accelerate smoothly, you’ll save a ton on gas.
You’ll definitely notice the difference between the XT and the base model. The base engine is slow and loud .
Still can’t believe Subaru hasn’t brought the turbo back for newer Foresters, especially since the Outback has it now.
Test drove a Crosstrek in 2018 … liked it but felt cramped and slow. Tried a base Forester—better size, but still felt sluggish. Then I drove the XT, and 30 minutes later, I was signing the paperwork. Best decision I made.
