Usually buy mine 3-4 years after release. Thanks for being the guinea pigs!

Haha, easy way to stay broke!

Think you missed what he was saying.

Testing out the 4th gen here! I’ll let everyone know if I hit any snags.

Me too! No issues so far with 8,000 miles. Fingers crossed!

Had an issue with an unclamped CV joint, but Toyota covered it. Overall, pretty happy with it so far.

Glad I got the manual. Feels solid so far!

Picked up a 2024 manual, but had issues right from the start. Ended up having to go the lemon law route.

What happened to yours? Mine’s just hitting 2,300 miles.

@Abi
Gears just stopped working properly. Dealer replaced the whole transmission, but my dad didn’t want it after that.

Always had manuals myself. Nice to drive.

I had issues with the manual too. Seems they aren’t bulletproof anymore.

Some early model issues are fine, but transmission failures? That’s rough.

Toyota’s gotten comfortable at the top. Maybe they’re slipping.

Yeah, and they’re charging more too. Not a great combo.

@Montana
If they keep this up, a smaller brand like Mazda might start creeping up.

Luxury models have higher profits, so they focus there. No money in basic cars anymore.

Miss those simpler days. My old Civic was so basic but drove like a dream.

Gen 2’s have torque converter problems.

No issues with my Gen 2.5 though.

Had to fix mine too, but a transmission shop did it for way less than Toyota quoted.

Just got quoted $8,500. Gotta shop around for a better deal!
