I have a 2016 RAV4 gas model and it gets around 23 mpg. If you do a lot of highway miles, a hybrid might not make a huge difference, but if you drive in the city at all, it will definitely help.
I have a 2018 RAV4 hybrid. It failed to start twice this winter after sitting outside overnight in 30°F. Also, my dealer won’t fix an electric issue under warranty and quoted me $4,500. My fuel economy isn’t as great as I expected. Just something to think about.

That’s one of my concerns too—what happens when the electrical system has issues? Thanks for sharing your experience.
If you’re in a cold climate, hybrids take longer to warm up because the gas engine doesn’t always run. But they come with an oil cooler and a transmission cooler, which helps. Tow rating is lower in North America than in other countries.
