I just got a 2025 Limited XT. Put $7,500 down and my payments are $539/month for 72 months at 2.9% APR. No extras added. You can add a Subaru Extended Warranty anytime before 3 years or 36,000 miles. I’ll decide on that closer to the deadline.
I went with the Premium because my wife doesn’t like leather or fake leather seats. I wanted the Onyx, but you know, gotta keep the peace. The Premium is great, though. It’s solid on the road and easily hits 80 mph. I watched some YouTube videos to learn about the tech features and turned off some of the nanny settings. Mine’s Autumn Green Metallic and it looks fantastic. Already put 2,000 miles on it in two months.
I bought mine two weeks ago and I’m having a bit of buyers’ remorse. The 2025 is so much bigger and taller than the older Outbacks. It feels more like an SUV than a wagon. I’m sure I’ll get used to it, but I miss the old style.
Go for the XT.

Did you get the coupon after you bought the car?

No, I submitted proof that I owned a 10-year-old Subaru, and they sent me a coupon that was valid for one month.
Where are you located? I’m in the middle of shopping for one too.

We might be looking in some of the same areas. I’ll send you a DM.

Sounds good!

If you’re buying new, look into the VIP program through ASPCA. It lets you buy the car at invoice price instead of MSRP, which can save you nearly $3k. You can either make a one-time donation of $500 or donate for six months straight. It takes a few weeks to get approved after your final donation. You can also pay part of your down payment with a credit card to get cashback. Some dealers even offer a free Visa gift card just for test driving. I started donating to ASPCA, but my dealer ended up giving me the invoice price without making me wait. It’s a big purchase, so do everything you can to get a good deal!
@JamesHenry
VIP isn’t worth it right now. Most dealers are already selling at or below invoice without any hassle. Using VIP might actually cost you more.

I agree. I checked 45 dealers within 150 miles of me, and a third of them had invoice pricing listed on their websites. I ended up getting almost 13% off a Touring XT.
@Amber
Edmunds is a great resource too. I found the exact model and color I wanted within 150 miles and emailed a few dealers to get a good price.

If you’re doing the one-time donation, I agree. Most dealers near me in Southern California were giving me a hard time because I wanted to custom order my car. I could’ve driven a few hours to get a better deal, but the dealer 10 miles away had what I wanted, so I’m happy.
@JamesHenry
$3k off MSRP isn’t a great deal. You’d do better calling sales managers during the last week of the month.
