It’s beautiful, similar to my fiancé’s 2005, but hers has the older front design. I had my buddy from the local Chevrolet/Subaru dealer paint the grille black. I also got her a portable CarPlay unit with an FM transmitter that fits right in the dashboard storage compartment. I’m working on upgrading all the interior lights to LED as well
@Beryl
I wish this one had that storage compartment, but it has the factory nav instead
I want one for myself honestly, I love the flat 6 and this generation of Outback, but selling my FXT would be tough. Like some have said, if you can find it for under 7500 with good mileage and Carfax, then go for it
My 08 Legacy had that same engine. I had no issues but changing plugs was pricey and it required premium gas instead of regular

My '06 Outback 3.0R doesn’t definitely need premium. It’s just recommended to use gas of good quality. Most developed countries now should be fine with regular
Get a pre-purchase inspection. Depending on mileage and maintenance, the engine and transmission could fail at any time

I only saw it when they were closed so I haven’t done a full inspection yet. It has 155k and no rust at all

That’s one of the best engines Subaru ever made. It’s not going to just fail. The 5eat has some issues but is generally a good transmission.
A pre-purchase inspection is a good idea, but saying it might blow up just because it has 150k miles is not a well-informed statement
@ToyotaLeez
He said ‘talk me out of it’
Just advising to get a pre-purchase inspection. I work at a dealership and see people buy other people’s problems all the time. It’s definitely a well-informed point
@Shawn
I didn’t say the pre-purchase inspection was uninformed. I meant that saying it could fail was

It’s not uninformed, it’s based on what I see daily at a Subaru dealership haha
@Shawn
Sure, for any of the EJs and F series. But I don’t think you see the EZs coming in regularly with issues. But I’m done arguing with you about this. Have a good night
@Shawn
That really doesn’t matter, my friend.
It’s well known that the EZ30 & ES36 is more reliable than the other engines Subaru had back then.
Maybe not as reliable as today’s engines, but definitely better than the head gasket problems of the 2.0 or 2.5
@Avi
Yeah, as long as maintenance is kept up, that’s true

Yeah, as long as maintenance is kept up, that’s true
That goes for literally every engine above 2.0L in any car

Yes, but this vehicle is older.
No big deal
