I had a 2018 Forester and after 60k miles, it started falling apart—AC failure, suspension problems, random electrical issues. I gave up and traded it for a RAV4. Hoping for fewer problems this time.
How’s the RAV4 treating you?

@Quince
Way smoother than the Forester. Gets better gas mileage too. Doesn’t have as much visibility, but the build quality feels better.
I have a 2016 Forester with under 60k miles, and I just spent $1,200 on control arm bushings. I’m really starting to think Subaru has a problem with cheap rubber parts. Feels like things are wearing out way too soon.
The AC compressor should be covered under warranty. I really like my ‘18 Forester, but if you’re not happy with yours, every little problem is just gonna annoy you more.
Sell it. I had to fight with Subaru over an engine rebuild, and they barely covered half of it. They blamed me for ‘lack of maintenance’ even though I had every service record. Never again.
