Is this even worth the effort… It’s been parked for 10 years… The person who owns it says it just needs petrol and a battery to start… What should I check before buying this… It seems like a fun project but I’m not sure…
You’ll need to replace all the fluids… The gas is probably bad by now and could be a pain to clean out… The engine might be stuck too… On the bright side it’s a Toyota so it was solid back in the day…
This looks cool… You’ll have to check everything though… Might need a new fuel pump, vacuum lines, brake lines… All the fluids will need changing… Hopefully there’s no rust…
What do you mean the engine is good… If it really is fine try putting it in gear… If the transmission doesn’t break pray the brakes work before you hit something… Take it slow…
You’d need a miracle…
The seals might be gone… Unless this car means a lot to you I’d say leave it…
Change all the fluids… Get a new battery… Check the belts… I wouldn’t drive on those tires… Where I live you’d need new brakes too… The exhaust might be rusted…
It’s going to need more than just petrol and a battery… If you’re good with tools and want a project go for it if the price is right… All fluids, maybe some hoses, pump, and tires to start… If it’s really been 10 years it’ll be more work than you think…
This car will never be right even if you get it running…
How much do you know about fixing cars… I’ve got a gen 1 too… You’ll need to swap all the fluids and check any rubber or gaskets that might have dried out… The valve cover gasket will need replacing… You’ll need a new battery… Check how bad the interior smells too… Why did they park it in the first place… My gen 1 is on loan to a friend… I’d never just let it sit… It’s too much fun to drive…
