Took my truck on rough back roads with the new setup… wow

Got my lift and new tires in the fall, but I hadn’t really taken it out for a proper run on some rough back roads until now. Went out Monday to scout for spring bear season, and man, I’m beyond happy with how everything handled.

The Geolandar AT XD tires killed it—handled snow, ice, and mud way better than my old BFG K02s. It was one of those weird days where you get a mix of all three, and they didn’t struggle at all.

Also, the Bilstein 5100 shocks were a massive upgrade over stock.

I’ve been on worse roads, but my truck has never felt this solid off-road before. Can’t wait to see how it does when spring hits, and things get even muddier.

That setup looks clean!

Appreciate it, man!

Looks sick… what size are those tires? And what wheels are you running?

They’re 285/70R17 Yokohama Geolandar AT XD’s on 17x9 Black Rhino Raids. Super happy with the look and performance. I get a ton of compliments at gas stations.

@Perry
Nice! How much lift did you need to fit those?

That thing looks solid. What’s your full suspension setup? I’m looking at 5100s but not sure what coil springs to go with.

Running Bilstein 5100s all around with SPC upper control arms. Kept the stock front springs for now but might upgrade soon. In the back, I’ve got Dakar medium-weight leafs.

Love the way that truck looks.

That’s a beast! Do the 5100s ride stiffer than stock?

Yeah, they’re definitely firmer than stock, but in a good way. Off-road, they soak up bumps way better. I was flying over washboard roads with no problem. Even my dad was impressed—now he wants a set for his Chevy.
