Toyota shared some big numbers for 2024. Hybrids are a huge part of their success, accounting for over 43% of total sales. Lexus also had its best year ever. They’ve got 30 electrified models and seem to be crushing it in the hybrid game. What do you all think about their direction?

Hybrids are definitely working for them. People trust Toyota’s quality and know the batteries will last, even for second or third owners. It’s smart how they’ve slowly built their hybrid lineup instead of rushing to full electric. They’re ready for the future, no matter where the market goes.
That’s cool and all, but where are the Siennas? Canada needs more of them.

The Sienna shortage should ease up soon. Production is moving to Japan, so supply will increase.
Remember when people were saying Toyota was falling behind because they didn’t go fully electric? Guess all those folks are pretty quiet now, huh?

Yeah, those same people are too busy hyping up German and Korean brands now.

Toyota might be in trouble if Chinese EVs start flooding the western markets.

Competition could be good for everyone, though.

I’m not so sure about that.
Can’t wait to see how the Crown stacks up against the Venza next year. Sad they discontinued the Venza, especially since sales were actually up.
We need the yellow Prius in the U.S. Please bring it!
The ventilated seats are nice, but they need to be stronger. Maybe then I’ll join the Toyota club in a few years.

Which model are you talking about? The ones in the RAV4 and Camry are pretty solid!
@Drue
My wife has a 2023 RAV4 Hybrid Limited. They’re okay, but when it gets really hot, you can barely feel them.

Yeah, this forum loves to make wild claims like that, but reality is usually different.
Only 2,163 LS models sold in 2024? Maybe it’s time to retire it. And Highlander sales dropped 47.5%… is it because of Mazda?

The Grand Highlander might have taken some sales, despite the stop sale earlier this year.

Yeah, the Grand Highlander’s stop sale hurt numbers. If you combine the two, they’d still sell around 160,000 units.
