What do you think about this… $40k for a 105 in the US?

I’m from Austria, and we could only dream of a 105 for that price. They were never sold here, and I once saw one listed (imported, of course) for over $100k.

It doesn’t seem that far off. Shipping from Australia has become insanely expensive. I was quoted $7,000 to ship an 80 series two years ago. There aren’t many 105s in the US, so sellers can name their price.

If you don’t like the price, you could always import one yourself. I would’ve at least cleaned it up and painted the bumper before trying to sell it.

I wouldn’t pay $40k for this one. A clean, low-mileage stock version might be worth $30k.

That’s ridiculous. We’ve got the ‘Toyota tax’ here in Australia too, but not like this. What are the rules about importing directly from Japan to the US?

I just sold my ‘94 after the big end bearing went bad for $6k. Still hurts thinking about it.
