What does this light mean?

Hey everyone,

I was driving my 2000 LX470 at about 65 MPH when the light that looks like a car with swerving tire marks came on, but NOT the VSC OFF or VSC TRC lights, and a super loud beeping started until I pulled over and came to a stop. The light turned off, and then I pulled away and drove about 50 MPH to my destination with no issues. I’m curious if anyone can diagnose this with that info or if I should just keep an eye on it? I heard about a VSC issue, but when the beep and light came on the brakes weren’t applied in my case. Any help would be appreciated, thanks y’all!

That’s the ‘Pull $1000 out of your pocket and give it to me’ light.

That’s my least favorite light, well except for the ‘give me $2,000’ light.

I’ve got a 2000 as well and I had something similar happen when my ABS sensor/reluctor ring was not properly aligned.

If you don’t have an owner’s manual you can find them on the web. It will tell you what this specific light means. Then you can make more of a determination.

Has your brake booster been replaced? Sounds like it could be the start of that. Or if you have any leaks in the windshield, the traction/brake control ECU could be going bad.

Sounds like the ESC light. Lots of things will trip that system up. We had a lot of issues with ours that were wheel speed sensor related.

My 2000 LC would flash dash light and apply brake when the steering ladder needed replacement.

I had that light pop up twice when my brake fluid was low. Turned out the rear brake line had kinked, then cracked. Got a shop to snip and reconnect the line to maintain pressure.

I have an LX570, and when I first got it, it took some time to figure out how to keep it in lane on the highway. On a long trip, I got a message ‘You should pull off the road because you are getting tired.’ I could not believe it. Took me a while to figure out how to turn off that ‘feature’. Maybe this is what happened to you; a sway monitor thought you were swaying too much on the road. But your car is older and there was no written warning on the screen.
