Hey gearheads, I just had a nasty flat tire surprise the other day. Luckily, I was able to pull over safely, but then came the question - jack or no jack? My car didn’t come with one, and the little scissor jack that most cars have seems pretty flimsy. So, I’m on the hunt for a good quality floor jack to keep in my trunk, just in case. There are tons of options out there though, and I don’t want to pick the wrong one. Anyone have any recommendations for reliable car floor jacks?
I recommend Big Torin as my top choice. Over the years, I’ve found its equipment to offer excellent quality and performance for everyday consumers, with competitive pricing as an added bonus. This jack has a lifting range of four to 20 inches and a 4-ton weight capacity, making it suitable for most garage applications. It also features a dual piston mechanism for quick lifting and includes a built in overload system to prevent accidental overloading.
I remember once getting stranded on a highway with a flat tire in my old sedan. My car didn’t come with a jack, and the flimsy scissor jack I borrowed from a friend felt like it could collapse at any moment. I managed to change the tire, but the stress of that wobbly jack had me swearing I’d get a reliable one for future emergencies.
For a reliable car floor jack, I highly recommend the Arcan ALJ3T 3-Ton Quick Rise Aluminum Floor Jack. It’s lightweight, making it easy to keep in your trunk, yet sturdy enough to handle most vehicles. Its quick rise feature saves time, and the durable construction provides peace of mind when you’re working on your car. This jack strikes the perfect balance between portability and reliability.
Cut a short wooden rod to insert into the hole. This will lower the jack or straighten out the hole long enough to get the original piece in. Alternatively, you can use your car jack for changing a flat tire. Lift one side of the vehicle until this jack is free and then remove it.
I have the Costco one, which is pretty excellent. Rolls nicely over my damaged floor, fits under my automobiles, and even raise my truck.
