Why don’t they make crew cabs with long beds anymore?

This has been bugging me for a while… why don’t they make trucks with crew cabs and 8ft beds anymore? Feels like everything these days is just short beds. What’s the deal?

I wish they still made crew cabs with an 8ft bed. You can barely haul anything in these short beds.

Amen to that. It’s frustrating how little you can actually carry with these short beds.

@Indra
It looks ridiculous too. These trucks with massive cabs and tiny 5 1/2 ft beds are just wrong. Long beds all the way.

100% agree with you there.

Exactly. The proportions are all messed up. Big cabs and short beds just look silly.

Good luck parking something like that anywhere.

If you know how to back up a truck properly, it’s not that hard.

The problem is most people don’t know how to park these days.

@Eliot
With all the cameras and tech on new trucks, there’s no excuse for not being able to park one.

Here’s my 2020 with the 5.7 engine: https://placehold.co/600x400.png

@TacomaTales
That’s a unicorn right there.

Double cab long beds are so rare now. I’m honestly surprised Toyota still makes them. I have a 2011 double cab long bed, and it’s not bad to park at all. Just don’t expect it to whip into a spot like a Corolla. But hey, with backup cameras, parking is no big deal.

@Dezi
The new Tundra’s turning radius is hilariously bad. It’s almost two feet worse than the older models. Trying to make a U-turn on a 2-lane road is a joke.

Yeah, the long beds look kind of absurd, but there are definitely times I wish my bed was longer.

He probably needed the long bed to haul all the new engines that came with the truck.

Bet he needed a CDL just to drive that thing. His engine and exhaust must be in different time zones. Still… I wouldn’t mind having the long bed.

Wait until people see Ford’s long bed crew cab. That thing is massive.

It’s so ugly.
