Premium SUVs without a luxury badge don’t sell well here. People spending $80k usually go for the Sequoia for family needs, the 4Runner for off-roading, or the Lexus for luxury. There’s a tiny market for a Toyota-branded $80k SUV, honestly.
Technically, we do have it… it’s just called the Lexus LX.
Simple reason… it wouldn’t sell well.
Why? Because Toyota makes more on Sequoias and the previous Land Cruisers didn’t sell well enough to keep around.
You already have enough options lol.
Sales were low, so they pulled it. Lexus LX is the closest thing now.
Just wait for the 2025 Toyota Land Cruiser 300!
A lot of people couldn’t handle spending $70k+ for a Toyota when the Lexus was just $10k or $20k more. At that price, most people would upgrade.

Lexus sold way more LXs than Toyota sold of the 200 series. Toyota realized they were just competing with themselves, so they dropped the full-size LC. Now LX sales have gone up. Source: I work with both OEMs. The Prado/LC250 fills the gap between 4Runner and GX better.
Maybe the government has something to do with it.

Nah, not a fan of Jeeps either. SUVs have gone downhill, IMO. I wouldn’t buy any SUV made after 2014. They’re too big, less reliable, fewer V8s…
I’m from the Middle East, and the Land Cruiser is super popular there. Drove my dad’s 2013 GX.R V8 for years. But these new ones, with V6 and turbos, have overheating issues off-road and loads of recalls.
Plus, they’re crazy expensive now and don’t feel as well-built. And, personal opinion, they look kinda ugly. Too boxy and generic compared to older models.
Personally, I think the Sequoia looks better.
It just looks too much like a Highlander to me.
