Why is water leaking into my '05 Corolla?

Every time it rains, I get water dripping inside. Could it be the old weatherstrip above the door, or is something else causing this? Anyone experienced this?

If there’s no sunroof, it’s probably a small rust spot near the windshield gasket or maybe a crack in the windshield seal.

This sounds like it could be the issue. Check for rust or damage around the seal.

@Neely
This makes sense. Good suggestion.

You’re welcome! Let us know what you find.

@ToyoLeez
Why are you acting like the one who helped when you didn’t even suggest anything?

I had an ’03 Corolla with the same issue. It ended up being the sealant where the windshield meets the roof.

Do you have a sunroof? If yes, the drains might be clogged. You can try cleaning them with weed trimmer string or air.

Nope, no sunroof on mine :sweat_smile:

In that case, inspect the gasket around your windshield.

Remove or slide the roof seals and apply sealant in the corners near the windshield.

This seems like the right fix!

I had the same issue in my old Tahoe. It wasn’t too hard to fix, and it didn’t cost much either.

This happened to my ’04 after a week of rain. Water dripped for a bit when I started driving, but then it stopped and hasn’t come back since.

Toyotas seem to fix themselves sometimes!

My 2022 Camry had a similar problem. It turned out to be a bad pinch weld.

It might just be that the drainage is blocked.

If it’s the drain line, it might have come loose. Carefully open up the roof area, reattach the line, and secure it with a zip tie.

I had the same issue on my '06 Corolla. It turned out to be a clogged sunroof drain.
