Not sure about Mercedes interiors these days, but the XSE is pretty nice.

To be fair, Mercedes interiors have been going downhill recently.

Maybe some of the cheaper models feel a bit downmarket, but sit in any 2025 Mercedes compared to a 2010 model, and the new one feels much better.
We’ve had our 2025 XSE for five days. How are you getting such good gas mileage? Any tips?

Mostly depends on the kind of driving you do and weather conditions.

Same question here. We’re still on our first tank, and the system says we’re averaging 25.8 MPG, which seems really low. We’re just driving around the city.

I’ve got a 2022 XSE with around 44k miles and it averages about 33.5 MPG, but I do a lot of highway driving. Best I’ve seen is 65 MPG, worst is 14, but those were short trips. My 2014 Sienna averaged around 17 MPG, so anything over 25 MPG makes me happy. I drive in sport mode, watching the screen with the arrows for battery charge, so I can adjust my driving to use battery mode when possible. Hot weather (above 100) or really cold days (below 40) seem to lower MPG too. I set the MPG calculator to each trip, so I can make adjustments when I take the same route again.

Mine’s a 2024 model. I just set the cruise at 65-70 for my commute. With lane assist, I mostly just need to handle the exit ramp. Almost all highway, with maybe two or three lights on a 35-mile route. I use eco or regular mode and switch to sport to pass trucks. I’ll be watching to see if the MPG holds up as winter comes.
How’s the comfort on the XSE? Does it feel firm because of the sport suspension, compared to the LE, XLE, or Limited?

Yep, the XSE does ride firmer with the tighter suspension. Some people like it for the road feel, but others think the softer models are smoother. I don’t get why anyone would go for the XSE, but clearly, it’s popular.
@Arden
Totally get it… the sportier feel of the XSE seems to help with the ‘van’ image, plus it has a more aggressive look. Still, it’s odd that the XLE only comes as FWD, like they’re nudging people toward the XSE. It looks great, but that firmer ride takes getting used to.
@hawley
Actually, you can add AWD on the XLE and other models for an extra $2k in the U.S. On the XSE, it’s an $860 add-on. Only the Woodland Edition includes AWD by default, and that’s just a slightly raised XLE.
@ace
No AWD option for the XLE in Canada, though. For AWD, you have to go with the LE, XSE, Limited, or Platinum models.

Aw man, sounds like you guys miss out on some options up there. That’s disappointing.
Full tint all around… makes it look way cooler

I did the same, but left the front windshield clear since I have young drivers in the family.
That ride is something else.
Look what they did with this older Sienna model. I’d love to get those rims and upgrades on mine. https://madnessautoworks.com/index.php?route=information/gallery&album=9993
I was interested in the Toyota Sienna, but I kept hitting my head getting in and out. No matter how low I set the seat, it’d still happen.
