So I’ve come to the sad realization that I will probably never get around to restoring my 1986 Land Cruiser. It’s been sitting for seven years, and I’m not sure what it’s worth. It has about 300,000 miles and typical Minnesota rust. The engine and transmission were solid, and I installed new leaf springs. A few years ago, the California pollution control pump seized, and I started removing it to use it as a belt tensioner (I even have new belts for it). I’m looking for a ballpark estimate for this non-running rust bucket, but the frame is solid. I don’t want to give it away, but I’m not trying to make a ton of money either.
Great pics you shared! My guess for the condition you described is around tree fiddy. Seriously though, you’re in the salt belt, and most vehicles that age around here are pretty much scrap. Make sure to take as many pictures as you can to help with the valuation.
I’m interested in this too! Just sent you a PM to discuss more.
Non-running with body rust usually means a low price. The condition of the interior matters too. I’m interested, but I’m a bit far away, like 2-1/2 states.
Honestly, it sounds like a simple fix if you’re handy. Maybe a 60-minute repair or something.
You should really consider the rust situation. That can affect how much it’s worth, especially in your area.
