I have a 2007 Sequoia and I’m having issues with the AC.
The condenser fan isn’t turning on while the vehicle is running. I’ve replaced the relays, but that didn’t fix the issue. I tested the fan by connecting it directly to the battery, and it worked fine, but it won’t turn on otherwise.
The front AC is blowing cold, but the rear AC only blows lukewarm air.
I tried adding more refrigerant, but it won’t take any more.
I’m unsure where to begin with these three different issues happening simultaneously.
No, I haven’t had it serviced. Could a faulty expansion valve be the reason why the condenser fan isn’t turning on? I was also wondering if it might be the ambient temperature sensor or possibly the cooling fan temperature.
I have, that is why this is so confusing to me. I have the 12v at the fuse block where the condenser fan relay goes. I have replaced the relay for the condenser fan, but still don’t have 12v at the fan itself. That’s what made me wonder if the AC pressure switch could somehow be keeping the condenser from getting the 12v it needs to turn on.
You mentioned that the fan doesn’t turn on while the car is running, does it ever turn on at all? I apologize if I am confused, but the pressure switch can indeed prevent the fan from coming on. However, I don’t have the wiring diagram for a Sequoia. Based on what I understand, the problem might be with the fan itself.
No worries, I’m confused as well! The condenser fan isn’t turning on at all, and I haven’t been able to get a 12V reading at the fan. However, I do have 12V at the relay.
