2015 TRD Pro Inferno … Anyone else love these older models?

I just picked up a 2015 TRD Pro Inferno in Pennsylvania, north of State College, and drove it seven hours back home. This is my first Tundra, and I can’t get over how smooth it is. I’m really glad I got one before all the newer tech like pre-collision sensors and adaptive cruise control started showing up. My 2020 4Runner had all kinds of issues with those systems. This truck feels like pure driving joy.

Wait … that’s a stock color? Pretty bold for Toyota! I thought my Barcelona Red was unique. I do get the appeal of less tech, but I’ll admit the auto-braking on my 2021 actually saved me once last summer.

@StarlightSpecter
Auto-braking is pretty useful, and adaptive cruise is even better. Out of all the tech they’ve added to cars, those features are actually helpful. The person who posted this might just be picky.

Lol, so 2.5 gen Tundra owners bash the later ones because of ‘all the computer stuff.’ Sometimes this forum feels like a contest to see who’s the biggest old-school fan. Cool truck, though.

My 100 series Land Cruiser is even more old-school. Beat that!

What’s more fun than your 2019+ dashboard lighting up with every possible malfunction warning? And then the dealer says you can’t turn off the pre-collision sensor or adaptive cruise. So you’re stuck with flashing warnings forever. It’s the best … not.

@Zyler
Ah yes, the good ol’ days when cars didn’t have all these ‘fancy’ features. I miss crank starts and no power steering!

Enjoy making payments on that $75,000 loan, buddy. :v:

@Zyler
Dude, you bought a TRD Pro, which back then was mostly just an appearance package. And you’re talking about finances? Lol.

Hey, I’m loving my dual exhaust and a great ride. My wallet’s feeling pretty good too.

@Zyler
Your truck is a 2015. It’s loaded with electronics and computers already. Adding adaptive cruise and a pre-collision sensor isn’t going to wreck your dash or increase your risk of breakdowns. It won’t ruin your daily drive either. If you were that worried about tech, why buy anything post-OBD2? Acting like your 2015 is tech-free is kind of funny.

@madisonwilson
Everyone knows the 2019+ electronics are garbage. Guess you missed the memo.
