2020 through 2024 models… any real differences?

Hey everyone,

It seems like the 2020+ models all look and feel the same to me. The 2020 XLE appears to have the same features, screen size, and general look as the 2024. We’re considering buying a new model but found a well-priced used one, and I can’t spot any major differences. Am I missing something here?

Yeah, they look almost identical cosmetically if you’re comparing the same package. The biggest change is that in 2023, they switched the gas engine from a V6 to a turbocharged 4-cylinder.

There are differences here and there. For example, the 2022+ models got better projector headlights. I think they also added acoustic glass at some point, and USB-C ports were a later addition. There are probably other small changes I’m not remembering.

Here’s what I know:

  • 2021+ models have Safety Sense 2.5 (2020 has 2.0).
  • Projector headlights became standard on all trims starting in 2021.
  • 2022 introduced USB-C ports and height-adjustable passenger seats on the XLE trim.
  • 2023 saw a switch from the 3.5L V6 to a 2.4L turbo 4-cylinder for the gas models, plus the wireless charger moved to the dash shelf, and the infotainment software was updated.

There might be more, but these are the main ones I can think of.

You nailed all the big points—great list.

@Blakely
Do you know which year they added the acoustic glass?
