Well, here it is in motion. Thoughts?
So basically the same car with a facelift and a giant tablet in the middle. Touring gets some updates, but nothing exciting. No hybrid yet either. I’ll pass for now.
The Touring trim doesn’t offer much more than my 2019. Pretty disappointing.
@Jody
Not impressed either. A lot of people are saying it gives off Explorer vibes.
That screen is just too much for me.
Glad I got my ‘23 Sport… hoping it lasts a long time!
@Jody
The one big improvement… an upgraded Thermal Control Valve.
ZINNNNGGG.
@Jody
Yeah, same thought here. Just a reskin with a huge tablet in the middle. Even the door panels look the same.
Oh, and they blacked out everything. That trend died back in 2010 when Nissan started doing it.
@Jody
Not really feeling it. I do like that they made the frame a bit stronger and improved the ride quality, but the styling is whatever, and the lack of power is a letdown.
You know what DOES impress me about the 2025?
AN ACTUAL ENGINE TEMP GAUGE.
Mind blown.
Something about it just looks off… way too much like a Ford. Maybe it’ll grow on me, but I was hoping for more power and a better infotainment system, and they gave us neither. So yeah, kinda meh for me.
@ruth
I think the issue is the grille touching the headlights. It just looks awkward.

I don’t get why car makers are obsessed with these massive grilles. They don’t look good on most cars.
@Tao
Nelly has entered the chat.
@ruth
Yeah, just doesn’t look much like a Forester anymore. I’ll keep my 2020 and see what the next gen brings.
@ruth
How about seats that don’t fall apart after 40,000 miles?

Funny, I’m at 52,000 miles and my seats are just fine.
@ruth
How is the 2025 not getting a better infotainment system?
Just traded my Bronco for a 2024 Wilderness yesterday. Glad I got the last model with real buttons.

Love my Wilderness. Enjoy!

Honestly, way better than I expected so far. So much better than my old ‘22 Crosstrek.
If they are right about the power numbers, that’s just sad. Still watching the video though…
Edit: So I’ll wait to see what the hybrid version brings. But yeah, the front is ugly, they got rid of physical buttons for X-mode and HVAC, and we’re still stuck with the same engine. The white Sport trim looks a little better, but overall… meh.
@Ellery
Yeah, I’m really mixed on this. Curious about the hybrid though. I want my next car to be one.
Not feeling the new design. And the horsepower and torque are just sad. I don’t see how this is an upgrade. Just my two cents.
