2025 Rav4 GR Plus PHEV 300H … is this the ultimate Rav4

Check out this picture of the 2025 Rav4 GR Plus PHEV 300H. What do you think about it?

The newer models look so much more aggressive. I like it.

They look almost the same as the older models. The main difference is the paint-matched fender flares, which do make a big difference.

Wait, you guys in Europe get a PHEV with real fog lights? Meanwhile, we’re stuck with those accent DRLs in the US.

You could get a diode dynamics fog light kit.

I have a 2025 PHEV with real fog lights, and I’m in the Bay Area. So it’s possible here!

@Dorian
Your 2025 hybrid limited, which you bought about 75 days ago, is a hybrid, not a Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle (PHEV).

You can probably convert them to fog lights. I added factory fog lights to my base 3rd gen, and it’s easier if you already have power there.

@Graydon
The issue is those wires are controlled by the stalk controls and are always on in most settings. On an XSE with PP, there are no unused buttons on the accessory array. You’d need to run independent wiring and controls through the firewall and have a separate button somewhere. It’s not plug-and-play unless you want the fogs on all the time.

@Bay
That sounds like a hassle. I had to run wires through the firewall too, but I had an unused button for the switch. There are aftermarket 2-button switches where you could make one button for fogs and the other for something else.

Is this really a GR spec from the factory? How is it different from a standard PHEV Rav4 Prime?

In Europe, we don’t have the Prime. The GR is the top trim. It has 19" wheels, a sunroof, JBL speakers, a HUD, heated seats and steering wheel, and electric front seats. The engine is a 2.5L combined with electric motors for 306HP.

@scofield
Got it. It seems like it’s just different marketing based on location. In the US, we have the Prime in SE and XSE trims, both with 300HP.

Sounds like the person who posted this has the European version of the XSE with a premium package. I’m jealous of the fog lights.

The European GR PHEV also has a slightly sportier suspension, but it’s not a big deal.

@scofield
You got the best color. In CZ, we have Comfort, Style, Adventure, GR, and Executive trims. The GR has alcantara seats, but I went with Executive for ventilated seats. Some colors are only available on certain trims.

@TundraTroopers1
Alcantara seats on a Rav4 sound awesome.

@scofield
It also has a different suspension setup.

To be precise, the European PHEV is equivalent to the Prime. The GR trim has a GR-tuned suspension and some aesthetic differences like the front grill, rear bumper, rims, GR seats, and badging. It’s the sportiest-looking Rav4. The GR trim is also available for the regular hybrid.
