Subaru is expanding its electric vehicle lineup with the 2026 Trailseeker, a larger and more refined alternative to its debut EV, the Solterra. This new SUV, developed in partnership with Toyota, boasts several upgrades, including a more powerful 74.7-kWh battery, a quicker DC fast-charging rate of 150 kW, and enhanced acceleration. Despite its improved battery, the Trailseeker’s estimated range is 260 miles—still short of rivals like the Chevrolet Equinox EV, which surpasses 300 miles per charge.
The Trailseeker also benefits from features like battery preconditioning and a standard NACS port, giving it access to the expansive Tesla Supercharger network. While Subaru hasn’t disclosed all the specs yet—including motor power and weight—it’s clear the Trailseeker is designed to be a more competitive EV option. Sharing its DNA with Toyota’s new C-HR+, the Trailseeker represents a bold step forward for Subaru, even as other automakers slow their EV momentum.
