Some hybrids are made to save gas, others like the iForce Max are more about power. In other regions, you can get a bigger tank with a sub fuel tank, but not in North America.
The old U.S. Land Cruiser had a 24.5-gallon tank and got 15 mpg, so about 367 miles. The new one has an 18-gallon tank and gets about 18 mpg, so about 324 miles. The trade-off was lighter weight, better fuel economy, and lower emissions.
If you live in South Florida, you don’t need the Land Cruiser’s off-road capabilities. The Highlander Hybrid would suit you better.

Thanks, I’ll consider it. I do some off-pavement driving, though, so that’s why the LC caught my eye.
My Lexus UX hybrid has a small 10.8-gallon tank. I fill up once a week, but it’s only $30. My truck costs $120 and lasts longer. Smaller tanks just mean more stops.
That’s about the range of the last U.S. 200 series LC. It wasn’t great.
Range was a dealbreaker for me. I hate stopping for gas.
