4th Gen Orange Tacoma

The color is striking. Wasn’t sure if I liked it, but it’s badass. The black wheels really tie the room together.

Man, that’s LOUD! I love it. I really don’t get the 5’ bed thing these days. Make them all 6’, it’s not much more steel.

But about 5 to 10,000 more bucks though

Love the color. I wanted Red, but after 4 months of waiting and no availability, I went with a backup color of underground.

The red in these is definitely nice. I picked this one up mostly because it was a manual but the color grew on me a lot.

@Kieran
And a manual?! That’s f***ing unicorn you’ve got there.

Does getting a leveling kit void any of the factory warranties?

@Tanaka
My dad has a 22 TRD OR and the dealership he got his from told him he could lift it up to 3” without voiding anything. I’ve been told (unofficially) by my sales guy in another state that any modification that is not OEM will potentially void any warranty on the parts/system that modification could affect/impact. I guess I’m really asking if the price and better looks of a 1.5” level is worth whatever systems that could possibly impact (front suspension?). I’ve seen a YouTube video calling out the lack of bump stops on the TRD OR front suspension on the 24s. I honestly haven’t looked or researched if my Limited has bump stops, but I kind of doubt it. Would a level have any noticeable negative impact?

They told me yes. I would have to get it lifted at a shop approved by Toyota for it to not void warranty (Cali)

@Bradley
That’s not accurate. The dealer either doesn’t know what they’re talking about or is intentionally misleading you.

They can’t just void a warranty because of aftermarket parts or work done at a 3rd party. They have to cover anything original unless they can prove it was the aftermarket parts that caused the issue.

It’s federal law. The Magnuson-Moss Act.

It’s the same law that prevents them from voiding your engine warranty just because you did an oil change yourself.

@Michael
I really appreciate the info! Does it matter on state? Or whether you own/ lease?

It’s federal law. State law can only make it more consumer friendly.

Keep in mind that even if you’re in the right, it can be a pain in the ass to get something warrantied if they want to fight it.

@Michael
Also, dealership didn’t even know the truck came with remote start. Even their ‘tech guy’ said ‘no it doesn’t come with it but we can install it.’ Then after two weeks I called and they said they cannot install a remote start… I replied well it comes with remote start and showed him. Over a year they had those trucks and had no idea.

I love that color.

Great looking Tacoma!

How much did you spend and did the mileage really affect?

Pretty much went from 19 mpg to 15 mpg. If I put the truck in eco mode it does help get to 20. This is mostly highway as I drive a lot for my work. And I don’t recall how much I spent. Somewhere around $2600 to $2900 with an alignment.

@Kieran
Thank you for the information… I have a Tacoma and looking forward to do the same… your truck looks amazing
