Woke up to a freezing morning and now every warning light is showing on my RAV4. It’s throwing all kinds of error messages. This happened right after a snowstorm. Anyone had this happen too? What should I check first?
This forum usually works better when you include the year, make, and model. If it’s about accident damage or dents, there are other forums for that. Tire questions go in the tire section. If it’s about insurance or a total loss, check out the insurance board. Just a heads-up from the automated system here.
My guess would be a weak battery from the cold.

Same here. Toyotas love to throw up every warning light if the battery is acting up.

Yeah, sometimes it’s just low voltage or a bad ground. Could also be dirty battery terminals.
Disconnect the battery, give it a full charge or get a new one, clean the clamps and posts, and reconnect. Should sort it out.
Could be a sensor got wet or your battery’s dying. Happened to me once in my F-150 from both. Or worst case… it really is all those errors.
How old is your battery?
You’ll need to pull the fault codes first and go from there.
Check for snow or ice stuck on the sensors behind the bumper, like the blind spot monitor or front emblem. Toyotas light up the dash when any sensor has trouble.
Every time I’ve had my dash light up like that, it’s been a bad battery.
Hopefully that’s all it is for you too.
Does it crank slowly? I’d bet it’s the battery too.
Same thing happened to me recently. Swapped in a fresh battery and it worked fine.
First thing I’d do is check the battery health.
Go to an auto parts store and clear the codes. The computer can get confused when snow messes with the sensors. I’ve had it happen from weird wheel speeds and even boost issues. Once it resets, it usually goes back to normal.
Feels like your car has ghosts lol
But yeah, battery’s probably the issue.
Looks like one of your onboard systems is acting up. Might need to get it checked out by the dealer. These issues can take a while to figure out.
My RAV4 did something like that on a long trip. I used a scanner to clear the codes and it fixed itself. I think it had something to do with a wheel sensor getting thrown off. Once the code was gone, it all went back to normal.
@EDAH
Might have also been a switch getting stuck because I had bags piled by the shifter. It couldn’t tell I was shifting through neutral.
