Any Canadian Land Cruiser owners here... thoughts on the 2024 model?

Are there any Canadian Land Cruiser owners here? I’m trying to decide if I should pick up a 2024 all black Land Cruiser trim (the dealership has it posted as 1958 with a premium package). I’m really curious to know how it handles as a daily driver, what the fuel economy is like, and how it performs in the snow.

Fuel economy is around 12L/100Km in winter. It gets better in summer, but remember it takes premium fuel. It handles okay in the snow with AWD, but I’ve just been using the stock tires for now, and they aren’t that great. I plan to switch to all terrains once they wear out. Also, had to park it in the garage because it’s a thief magnet, so that’s something to think about if you’re in a dense population area.

Thanks for the info, this really helps. I live in Montreal, so snow is a big factor if I’m going to drop that much on a truck. I’ll definitely have to look into some anti-theft gear since I don’t have a garage, just a driveway.

@Daryn
Yeah, definitely a good idea. Safer to be prepared with some anti-theft gear.

I don’t live in Canada, but I do live in the mountains of CO and can say that the LC250 does very well in the snow (at least my premium does). It’s also very comfortable as a daily driver. I think I’m averaging around 20MPG, but I’m upgrading the tires to 35’s, so I expect that to take a hit.

That’s great to hear! Any recommendations for winter tires?

I usually go for the Michelin X-Ice or Bridgestone Blizzak. Both handle well in the snow.

I’ve had good results with Nokian Hakkapeliitta series. Super reliable and great grip!

I’m pretty sure the 1958 does not offer the premium package option (at least it doesn’t in the US).

Correct, there are no packages for the 1958 trim. What you get is what you get.

Thanks for clarifying that! I guess it’s good to know exactly what I’m looking at then.
