I actually hit the ‘as advertised’ MPG while driving mixed city and highway… but wow, I had to baby it like crazy. The second I hit a hill, that number disappeared.
Lmao no chance I’m getting anywhere near that.
Best I’ve seen is 14, and that’s on a good day.
You running stock suspension and tires?

Yep, SR5 18” stock wheels. No lift, everything factory.

Your mileage will get better after 10K miles. You won’t have to baby it as much to hit 19. I can pull 23 on the highway if I keep it under 70.
@Grey
Yep, this checks out.
Same here. SR5 stock on 18s, no lift, and I’m getting about the same.
Do you just never drive up hills or what? No way I’m getting that where I live.

I’ve got a ton of hills around me. I just assume it evens out… bad MPG going up, great MPG going down.
I hit 22 on the way home from the dealership (mostly downhill highway), but now I’m stuck at 16.
2800 miles in and averaging 18.2. Thinking about trying a K&N filter to see if it helps.
Best I’ve gotten in mixed driving is 17.1.
13.5 over here lmao.
My 2014 gets 17 MPG exactly, all stock.
My 2020 gets 11.2, so honestly you’re doing great lol.
I’ve got an F-350 diesel that weighs almost 9,000 lbs and still gets better mileage. Not knocking Toyota (I also own a Tundra), but damn their MPG is rough, even on Tacomas.

Isn’t that just how diesels work? They usually get better MPG unloaded. Honestly, 19 in a full-size gas truck isn’t bad for mixed driving.
@DavidDaniel1
Not always. Duramax doesn’t do great on MPG either. A lot of it comes down to engine size, gearing, and ECU tuning. Toyota probably sacrifices MPG to boost performance elsewhere. Just my guess, I’m no engineer.
If I could get 19 in my Tundra, I’d be happy.
2025 Tundra SR5 6.5’ bed, all stock, normal mode, 75% highway / 25% city. Just driving like normal… 18.5 MPG in the first 1500 miles.
