Anyone else have door trouble? What happened with yours?

Was it the cable?

Does this happen often? Should I be worried? What can I do to avoid it?

Cables can break if you’re rough with them. Just be gentle. The rollers slipping out, though, isn’t common at all.

What year is your car? Is this a usual problem?

Cable breaking? Yes. Rollers slipping out? Not really.

What year is it?

It’s a 2004. That door has opened a million times by now.

Is your cable super thin, like fishing line? Mine snapped on my 2004, but the door still works fine. Should I worry?

The rollers came out of the rail, and the cable got chewed up. Your door should be fine for now.

Wasn’t there a recall for this? You should check if your car’s year and model are covered.

Sadly, no. They said since the cable was damaged because of the rollers, it doesn’t count as a ‘cable failure.’

Would Toyota’s platinum warranty cover something like this?

I wish it did.

Which year is your car?

I’m guessing the cable snapped?
