Oof, that’s a tough fix. If you’re doing it yourself, take it slow.

I’m deciding whether to buy a cable system from a car parts store or spend way more for the original. Either way, it’s going to be a pain.

If you’re doing it yourself, it’s better to do it right the first time. Check everything while you’re at it.

You’re right. I’m also replacing the hinge because the old one doesn’t align perfectly. The door works, but there’s some wind noise on the highway. Now I get why dealerships charge so much for this.

Dealerships just want your money. I did my driver’s side hinge yesterday. Took a couple of hours, but I went slow and lubed everything up.

These doors still have rollers. The cable doesn’t hold the door up at all.
