Hey everyone, I’ve got a 2024 Limited and about a month ago, my camera system stopped working right. I lost all guidelines, couldn’t switch views, and the rear 360 camera no longer stitched things together properly, making the view shorter than it should be.
I took it to my local dealership and they reprogrammed it, which fixed most of the issues, but the 360 view still isn’t working. They said Toyota says there’s nothing they can do, as the system has the latest firmware. I asked them to recalibrate it, but they said that wouldn’t help. In the picture, you can see the white road line at the back of the truck in the rear view camera, but the 360 camera shows it under the truck.
Has anyone else dealt with this issue? The camera was working fine before it broke down a month ago.

Yeah you’ll have to make an appointment and get it recalibrated.
I have them doing a recalibration now after they argued with me that it won’t actually do anything. Their reasoning is that it’s the same firmware, so recalibration won’t change anything.
@Palmer
Ah gotcha I didn’t read the entire thing. It shouldn’t matter about the firmware. Mine took a hit and the firmware was the same. I’d request they do it. If not go to the GM and let him know your frustration. It’s BS that they won’t fix it.
@Afton
There’s a thread on this forum where someone reported being unable to self-calibrate the system even after accessing diagnostic mode. By the way, Steve Welch shows how to access that mode in a Tundra here: https://youtu.be/4kpPvoI9K1g?si=UpaBol20r_80RemB
Update: The dealer recalibrated it and then the entire camera system malfunctioned. Now it’s giving them an error saying it can’t communicate with the ECU. I’m waiting for them to figure out what to do next.
Yeah I have a similar but actually worse issue. I’ve posted about it too. All of my lines are curved and not accurate. I’ve taken it to two Toyota dealers and reported it to corporate. Basically, they said there’s nothing they can do and it’s noted.
I’m pretty bummed about buying a truck for 80,000 that can’t figure out one of the most basic tech features these days.
This is just one of many tech issues I’ve had with this truck. Right now, my RSA keeps forgetting the sign it just read every 30 seconds, and I can’t get the truck to reconnect to the remote connect app, which now costs 15 bucks a month to use for remote start.
I had this happen. After they reset the cameras, they had to realign them. It’s not a physical alignment, though. I think it’s about aligning the camera with the 360 view.
