Same thing happened with mine. Took it to the dealer under warranty and they charged me anyway. Turned out to be the gas cap.
mchanth, I’ve been trying to reach you about your car’s extended warranty.

I’ve seen the little clutch that engages AWD fail before. Can’t believe it even works — it’s tiny. Only way to know for sure is to scan it and test stuff.

2017 was the last gen. The one before it, 06 to 12, actually had a warranty extension for that clutch setup.
Could just be a loose gas cap.
Check the battery and cables. Mine did the same thing and it was just a weak battery.
This used to only show up on Bugattis
If you’re still under warranty, let Toyota deal with it. Don’t waste time trying to fix something they should handle.

You’re still covered under mileage. Just bring it in.
There’s a known bug with these where a low battery triggers all kinds of warnings. You can go to a place like AutoZone and ask them to clear the code. Toyota wanted $150 just to check it with their scanner, so I passed. In my case, I just left the lights on too long.
So what was it in the end @stib4?

Dealer’s super backed up so they couldn’t see me until 12/22. I’ll update after the appointment.

Aaaaand???
@Bradas
I had an aftermarket gas cap that needed a key to open. Haven’t had any issues for years, but the dealership told me to switch back to the original one. They reset the message and it’s been fine since.
Long shot, but if you recently got new tires, double check the sizes. If they put mismatched ones on front and back it can mess with things.
Mine was caused by the EVAP system. Was still under warranty and took about an hour to fix.
