thinking about doing a muffler delete on my 2020 corolla se. has anyone here tried it? i saw a video and it actually sounded kinda nice, but idk if it’s gonna be too loud or annoying long-term. just curious what people’s experiences have been. worth it or nah?
i did it on my '19 se. it sounded cool at first, gave it a bit more growl, but ngl it got a bit droney on long drives.

what do you mean by ‘droney’? like annoying or just loud?
@Nova
yeah like this constant humming/vibration sound around certain speeds. not crazy loud, just kinda gets on your nerves after a while lol.
i thought about it too but ended up doing a resonator delete instead. still gives you a little more sound but not as crazy loud.

wait what’s the difference between muffler and resonator delete?
@Ameliascarlet
resonator delete takes out some drone and makes it a bit smoother. muffler delete is louder overall. depends on what you’re going for tbh.
had it done for a few months. it’s fun for short trips and city driving, but on highways it’s a bit much. your neighbors might hate you lol.

lmao yeah that’s what i’m worried about… don’t wanna be that guy in the neighborhood
tbh i liked it for like the first week. after that, i kinda regretted it. sounded cheap after a while. maybe it’s just me tho.

nah i feel that. sometimes the novelty wears off fast.
if you’re gonna do it, just make sure you keep the stock muffler in case you wanna swap back. some shops will straight up cut it off and toss it.

good tip, thanks for that. i’ll ask the shop to give it back if i go through with it.
