Anyone tried the new pilot sport a s 3 from michelin?

just saw that michelin dropped a new tire called the pilot sport a s 3… looks like it’s meant to be their new top all-season performance tire. wondering if anyone’s tried it out yet or has thoughts? i’m considering it for my next set and curious if it really holds up in wet and dry like they claim.

i’ve been using them for about a month now… super grippy on dry roads and not bad in the rain either. def a step up from what i had before.

did you try them in snow or cold temps yet? i’m in the midwest so all-season really has to mean all-season lol.

@Verne
nah haven’t hit snow with them yet… but they feel solid in cooler weather so far. might still swap to winters if it gets too icy though.

i read that these replaced the pilot sport a s plus… anyone know what changed?

yeah, they added some new rubber compound and changed the tread pattern. supposed to improve wet grip and handling. i think it’s called extreme silica compound or something like that.

@lorenza
ahh gotcha. thx for that. i was wondering why they were hyping it up so much lol.

was thinking of going with continental but now this has me rethinking. michelins are pricey though…

true but they last longer imo. i had continentals and swapped to michelins last year… totally worth it for the comfort and grip.

@Mary1
solid point. might just bite the bullet and get em then.

are these good for spirited driving or just normal everyday use?

they’re def good for spirited runs. not a full-on track tire but handles twisty roads like a champ.

sweet, sounds like what i need. thanks for the heads up :+1:

any noise issues with them? i’ve had performance tires before that sounded like a jet engine lol
