I’m looking for recommendations on a remote start system to install on my 2023 SR5. I have the tech package, it’s a 4x4, and it’s a push-to-start model. Any suggestions?
Does your Tacoma already have a remote start feature? Try pressing the lock button on your remote three times and hold on the third press until the parking lights flash. It should start after that.

Unfortunately, mine doesn’t seem to have the remote start feature. I’ve tried the 3-lock thing a bunch of times thinking maybe it did, but no luck.
@Marsden
Ah, that’s too bad. I have a pretty basic 2023 TRD OR and it came with remote start via the key fob. Do you have the Toyota app? My truck came with a one-year trial of ‘connected services,’ and I can remote start it through the app.
Check out the Start-X Remote Starter Kit for 2020-2023 Tacoma with Push to Start. It uses the 3X lock method to start the truck, and the install is really easy—just 15 minutes and no wire splicing! Here’s the link: https://a.co/d/4eQSi9g
Take a look at this kit from N2 Designs: https://www.n2designsinc.com/product-page/n2-designs-2016-2018-toyota-tacoma-plug-and-play-remote-start-kit-h-key
Just make sure you order the right kit for your model. I’ve only heard good things about this company. I’ve been meaning to buy one for myself and get it installed.
