Best suspension for stock height and towing … any ideas?

I just got a 2010 Tundra Grade 4x4 with the 5.7L engine. It’s a double cab, and I’m running 275/65 R18 tires. Planning to get KO3s this week.

I want to slowly upgrade parts as I go, and I’m starting with the suspension. Looking for good aftermarket struts to replace the stock setup. I’ll use the truck for a mix of weekend hauling, off-roading, and my daily work commute.

I need something that rides well both on and off-road without sacrificing performance.

Any recommendations?

TLDR: What’s the best suspension for stock ride height?

Check out Deaver rear springs and shocks like King, Fox, or Bilstein. Solid choices.

Keep it simple. Go for KYB Monomax or Bilstein 4600/5100.

Or just say screw it and get a 6-inch BDS lift with Fox shocks. :man_shrugging:

I’ve seen a lot of people recommend the Bilstein 4600 and 5100. Should I replace anything else while I’m at it?

@Teegan
You could upgrade to the Bilstein 6112 with new coilovers.

@Teegan
Depends on how many miles you’ve got. At minimum, replace the strut mounts up front.

I’ve been really happy with my Icon setup.

Did you install it using Icon’s tools?

I’m loving the Eibach Stage 2 front and rear setup.

The front struts are adjustable up to 2.75 inches, but you can leave it at stock height if you want. The rear shocks are good for up to a 1.5-inch lift, but they won’t raise the truck unless you add lift blocks. My truck already had rear leaf springs, so unless you add blocks or shackles, the rear will stay stock. The Eibach setup gives a great balance of comfort and handling, plus it gets rid of body roll and that annoying nose dive when braking.

The Eibach Stage 1 is a step up from the Bilstein setup. Great ride quality.

I’ve got Husky HD leaf springs paired with KYB shocks. I’m swapping in Bilstein 6112s on the front tomorrow to level it out. Just moved to an area with super bumpy roads, so I’m not sure if it’s the roads or my blown-out ball joints or CV axles causing the rough ride. Those are getting replaced tomorrow too.
