Hey everyone, I bought a used Corolla and the Bluetooth is driving me nuts. It connects, but I can’t hear anything until I manually hit play on Bluetooth, even though my phone shows it’s already playing. Anyone else had this problem?
Sounds like some old Windows 98 stuff. Do you have the original setup disc?

Wouldn’t be surprised if it’s running something ancient like Windows 98

Haha, reminds me of old Windows NT… wouldn’t be shocked if the whole system is running on winforms.
@TomHenry
98 wasn’t built on NT though. This is confusing.

I meant that it’s more likely NT since it still gets updates, unlike 98, which ended way before this car was designed. Even newer NT versions still have that old Windows look.
@TomHenry
Good point. I’ve been stuck watching old videos of DOS and computer viruses on YouTube lately.

It’s probably Windows CE.

Oh yeah, this is definitely Windows CE.

Back then it would be a stack of floppy disks, like 9 of them.

Yeah, I still have my old Windows 95 set on 13 floppies somewhere.

Brings back memories of my Compaq laptop with a built-in trackball from college days.

I used to work on so many of those Compaq machines back then. Hated seeing that brand, honestly.
@Lily
Never having to see a Compaq again is true freedom. Feels like crawling out of a prison tunnel like Andy from Shawshank

Appliances have their own operating systems. There’s a job called Embedded Developer that works on stuff like this. Your car’s infotainment is one example, but they also work on things like medical devices and factory machines.
According to Google Translate, it says the program FymMain.EXE froze and needs to close. Try doing a factory reset first, and if that doesn’t work, maybe see if you can update or reinstall the software.
@Bao
What do you mean ‘main.exe’ froze?!
@Bao
Thanks, I’ll try resetting it and see what happens.
For anyone curious, that’s Windows CE. It was used on handhelds and some car head units. I had a Pioneer AppRadio running on WinCE back in the day.
Dude, your display just blue-screened!
