Ordered their new full skid plate set they said would fit all non-hybrid trims for the 2024 Tacoma. Install went fine, I followed their video exactly. Truck looked good when I dropped it down. But when I turned the wheels… it hit. I didn’t even think to check clearance before and now I’m stuck. Emailed them and waiting to hear back. Hope they make it right.
Just took those skids out of my cart after reading this.
Did the box or the install video say anything about checking wheel clearance before driving?

Nothing at all. No warning on the sales page or the video. Here’s the link if you want to see: Lower Control Arm Skid Plate For 2024+ Toyota Tacoma – Cali Raised LED

Man that’s rough… sorry this happened to you. I’d be really mad too. Hope they work something out but I doubt they will replace a rim. Please let us know what they say back.

I’m not trying to get new rims or anything. I just want my money back for the skids. Plus I want to warn other people before they mess up their trucks too.
@TEXIANA
No way man… you should ask for new rims. They sold you something that damaged your truck. I’m dealing with a similar thing with Ironman 4x4 and they are paying me back for new parts and labor.
@Akira
What happened with yours?
@Akira
Curious too… what went wrong?
@Akira
Man he should really Cali raise some hell!
@Akira
What parts from Ironman? I put on their foam cell pro lift about 6k miles ago and only thing weird I have is traction control acting funny on hard right turns while braking.
@Akira
Honestly they didn’t damage his truck. This is the real world. They are selling parts that you add on. It’s on you to make sure they fit. People treat aftermarket parts like factory stuff and that’s not how it works. You are modifying your truck. Also who buys skids for the control arms before changing wheels? How much protection do those even give? Control arms are already strong.
@Mica
Agreed. Aftermarket parts are ‘install at your own risk.’ It’s a folded sheet of steel… does its job if you check before installing. This is not Minecraft where you just bolt stuff on. If you’re modifying your truck, you have to be ready for stuff like this. I mean control arms are already solid as hell.
@TEXIANA
Maybe they do owe you rims honestly… no harm in asking at least.
Honestly this doesn’t surprise me. I said before in another thread that their trail edition sliders didn’t really match the 4th gen Tacoma either. Seems like they just design stuff quick and don’t really test it much.
@Marlon
I actually have their step sliders too. Pain in the ass to install, but they did fit after some fighting. That’s why I trusted them to get the skids right too.

Yeah mine fit but the sliders flex enough that they press into the body sometimes. Kinda lazy design if you ask me.
