Can I fit 35s without a lift or do I need one?

Nice truck! Is it a 2025 model?

Yeah, 2025. Just picked it up last month… so far, so good. One thing I didn’t know about was the fake engine sound from JBL. It can be turned off, but I’m not sure how the truck will sound inside after that.

@Lloyd
Get the Carista module. You can toggle it on and off to see if you like it. Plus, it lets you change a bunch of other settings.

I’ve heard of Carista… I need to check it out. Would using it void my warranty?

@Lloyd
Nope, it’s the same as what a tech can do with a Techstream. Warranty is safe.

Good to know! Do you know which Carista model I should get?

The basic one works fine for Toyota. The EVO model is mainly for VW because of its extra CANBUS features.

If you don’t want to lift it, you could try 285/70R18s. That’s about 33.7” x 11.2”. You’d gain about an inch in height, which might be just enough to make the wheel wells look fuller without going too big. But honestly, TRD Pros look amazing with a 2.5” lift and 35x12.5s.

@Smith
Yeah, I agree—2.5” lift with 35s would be perfect. I don’t want the tires to stick out past the fenders, though. Would 12.5” be too much?

12.5s will stick out about 0.64” more than stock. Use a straight edge and a tape measure to check how far that would be.

@Smith
That’s a solid idea. My main concern is passing inspection. I live in MA, and they’re super strict about that.

I keep my stock wheels and tires for stuff like that. If you don’t want aftermarket wheels, you could find a set of stock TRD Pro takeoffs on eBay for a decent price.

@Smith
Good call. I’ll measure first and see how far the 12.5s stick out.

Sounds good! Post some pics when you decide what to do.

Will do!

You can fit 35x12.5R20s on a stock Tundra of any trim with little to no rubbing. You should be fine.

Is this the factory 3” lift model?
