Is it okay to use the Venza to jump-start another car? What should I know before trying this?
You’re better off getting a jump starter. The small 12-volt battery in the Venza doesn’t have enough power for this.

Don’t do it.

Thanks for clarifying! So, it’s only safe to jump other Toyota hybrids, not regular combustion engine cars?
Get a NOCO jump starter instead. It’s super handy, and you won’t need to rely on your car battery. I’ve helped plenty of people with mine. Check this out: NOCO - Genius Multi-Purpose Battery Chargers

I’ve got two of them, one for my Venza and one for my old Prius. They’ve saved the day a few times over the past couple of years.
Yes, you can technically jump another car with the Venza, but you really shouldn’t. The hybrid system wasn’t made for the heavy load of jump-starting. I’ve done it with a Prius before, but it’s risky and could damage your car.
@Kit
Why would you still do it if it risks damaging the car?

I get your concern, but sometimes you’re in a tough spot. I wouldn’t make it a habit, though. It’s possible but not recommended.
Yes, it’s possible.

How exactly do you do it?

Under the hood, look for the red plastic cover with a + symbol on it. That’s where the positive cable goes. For the negative, use a metal part near the oil intake or any grounded bolt.
Thanks for the tips .
If you really want to be careful, you could try connecting directly to the 12-volt battery in the back luggage area. It’s a tight space, though. Double-check before attempting.

That battery only powers the computer and relays for the hybrid system. It’s not made for the heavy load of starting another car .
There’s a jump point under the fuse box, so you can technically jump another car. I’ve done it before, but I wouldn’t make a habit of it. Toyota added it for emergencies, not regular use.

Here’s a video explaining why it’s risky: https://youtu.be/9xawGFWIIe0?si=E7mqVlpnLf_oU2VF
@Zayn
I see your point. I guess I’ll just take the risk occasionally when helping someone out.
