What sets them apart, except for size differences?
The 2.5L engine in the Camry LE has an 8-speed automatic transmission, whereas the 1.8L engine in the Corolla LE with Convenience Package is mated to a CVT. Not everyone agrees with the theory that the 8-speed transmission will outlast the CVT, but some people do.
The Camry’s larger engine provides more comfort, improved sound insulation, and a softer ride. In addition, it has a wider centre console armrest, a power driver’s seat, a greater phone charging area, more room for the rear seats, and a completely opening trunk that a remote can control. On the other hand, the Corolla offers better MPG, easier parking in confined places, full-speed adaptive cruise control, and an electronic automated parking brake.
Do the costs of insurance and maintenance compare? Is the Camry safer in crashes, even if the Corolla usually costs less upfront? What more distinctions might affect your choice?
