was looking at getting a new subaru but now i’m seeing stuff about possible price hikes starting april 2 cuz of those trump tariffs. sounds like they haven’t decided yet, but it’s being talked about. anyone else following this? should i try to buy before april or just wait and see?
yeah i read something similar. they import like half their cars from japan, right? so depending on the parts, some could be hit.

even the ones built in indiana use parts from canada i think. so yeah, still affected.
@Blakely
makes sense now. i thought ‘made in the usa’ meant all good
bmw said they won’t raise prices till may 1 but subaru’s already saying their pricing could change soon. not a great sign tbh.

yeah subaru even sent a bulletin out to dealers about it. not even hiding it lol.
anyone know if this only affects canada/mexico imports? or is japan stuff included too?

tariff’s focused on mexico and canada right now, but imported parts from anywhere can still mess with pricing. japan stuff definitely matters.
feels like subaru’s at least being honest tho. most brands acting like nothing’s happening while waiting to drop the hammer later.

true. subaru’s already saying prices ‘may be subject to change’ which is corporate speak for ‘it’s prob going up’
i’d say if you’re already planning to buy, just go for it before april. worst case, you beat the price bump by a few days.

that’s kinda what i’m thinking. better to lock in current price than roll the dice on april 2.
