This is my first time looking to buy a Toyota. I’m considering the 2025 Hybrid LE or SE. I visited a dealership, and the guy there also suggested the Corolla SE hybrid and the Corolla Cross. But, I think I’m leaning towards the Camry since I had one as a rental for 3 weeks and really liked it. Since this is a Camry forum, I’m curious, what made you choose the Camry over other options? Just asking out of genuine curiosity.
Honestly, pound for pound, the Camry is a better buy. It offers the same, if not better, mpg with more power. Plus, it has more space. To me, the Camry LE is the best deal right now.
I’ve always owned used Corollas, but I decided to go with the Camry because of the AWD and heated seats. The AWD was a lifesaver during snow storms. I don’t regret it at all.

I agree! The cold weather package was totally worth it. I’m in New England, and the SE handles snow and icy roads like a dream.
All 2025 Camrys are hybrids. If you don’t need AWD, I wouldn’t recommend getting it. It costs more, and if you don’t need it, why pay for it? The Camry has more space and rides so much better than a Corolla. The Camry LE is a great deal.
@Jin
I don’t need AWD for sure. I also agree that the Camry has more space. I test drove both, and while it wasn’t a long drive, the Camry definitely accelerates faster, rides smoother, and has more room.
@Jin
Can you get the LE with leather seats and the big display screen, or do you have to upgrade to the AWD for those features?
You can’t go wrong with a Camry hybrid! I absolutely love my 2025!
I suggest test driving both. I chose the Camry because it accelerates well, has AWD, and the seats are way more comfortable. Just a heads up, I tested the 2024 models last year.
I bought my wife a Cross two years ago, and I got myself a Camry last week. Both are great! The Cross is a bit smaller than a RAV4, but it’s good for trips with some cargo and two kids. I love my Camry. We didn’t need two SUVs, and I prefer sedans. I chose the Camry because of its price and long-term reliability. So far, I love it. My best advice is to think about how much cargo space you need. Both are great options. Good luck.
I have a 2025 Camry. I was originally thinking about getting a Prius, but they stopped shipping them last summer because of the trunk latch. I drove the Camry and really liked how it felt. My mom has a 2024 Cross, and while I like the hatchback, I prefer how the Camry drives. The trunk is huge, and I don’t have to worry about stuff flying around if I get in a wreck. If you’re really tall or have any physical issues, the Camry might be tough since it’s low to the ground. The Corolla is nice too, but my family is pretty tall, and we needed more space.
Yeah, you get a lot of car for the price. The Camry ticks all the boxes.
I was originally looking at getting a previous-gen XSE/XLE V6 with a TRD appearance package after seeing a TRD in person that caught my eye. I used to drive modified cars, and the performance specs weren’t bad. When it was time for a new car, I decided to go with the Camry because my grandma used to own one, and it felt like a nice tribute. I went to the dealer last June and ordered the 2025 Camry after they released it. Otherwise, I probably would have looked at getting a GR model something, but I can’t justify a two-seater these days. I wanted something new with updated features and sporty.
I used to have a Honda Fit and loved it. I was looking at a Corolla hatchback or a Camry hybrid. I probably should’ve waited a bit longer to avoid negative equity on my old car, but I went with the Camry hybrid SE in the end. I’ve always wanted one because I value comfort, and it has better gas mileage than my Fit.
I had a 2023 Corolla hybrid SE and now I have a 2025 Camry. Go for the Camry. It’s totally worth the extra $4k. The Cross is cool if you want the SUV/crossover height, but the Camry (to me) drives so much better and has a lot more power. The ergonomics are better too. The only reason to go for a Corolla hybrid over the Camry is if you prefer a smaller car or the Corolla SE look.
@Clovis
I sat in both and totally see what you mean. I’m going with the Camry.
I chose the 2025 Camry because the RAV4 is about to be redesigned, and I wasn’t a fan of the 2025 Accord styling. The Prius is getting a refresh for 2026, but it reminded me too much of the Corolla. I don’t like the screen in the Subarus, so the Forester hybrid was out. The CX-50 has the old Toyota hybrid system, and honestly, all Mazdas look the same. The front of the Camry looks like the Insignia, Corolla, and Prius. The Corolla is getting outdated, and I think the Tacoma wouldn’t fit in my garage. It came down to the Camry because it was a refreshed model and I was familiar with Toyota hybrids (my mom has a 2024 ES300h). The only vehicle I wish Toyota made is a hybrid version of the Maverick, but it doesn’t exist.
The Camry is definitely bigger than the Corolla.
If you don’t mind a small car, the Corolla isn’t bad, but for comfort, I’d definitely go with the Camry.
Thanks to everyone who commented! The Camry is definitely what I’m going with. You were all right—the Corolla is just too small, especially with my 3-year-old. His feet don’t fit in the back seat properly, haha.
