I was working on the front vents under the radio and came across this compartment. Is it something everyone knows about? Turns out it’s also a wireless charging dock.
I thought everyone knew about this. By the way, that wireless charger barely works.

It works okay for a wireless charger, but anything you put in there will just slide around, which defeats the purpose.
@Barrett
I haven’t been able to make it work with my phone if I leave the case on. But I’ve got wireless chargers from the dollar store that work fine with my case.

It looks like it depends on the case. I bought the Apple case, and it works without a problem with all wireless chargers. My wife’s case from Amazon, on the other hand, sometimes works, but not with the one in the car.
That’s my secret napkin stash box.

I’m laughing so hard at how accurate that is.

That’s my sunglasses holder because the charger is pretty bad. Plus, without wireless CarPlay, it’s pretty useless in my opinion.
That charger is only for emergency use. You could walk to Target or BestBuy, buy a charger, and walk back home. It’ll charge your phone faster than using that wireless charger for an hour in the car.
Awesome! I didn’t know that existed.
Oh my god, I’m going to check right now.

I found it! Thanks, I love you! That’s so cool.
Yeah, I knew about that. I got the 2019 model when it first came out, so I was aware of the charging dock. But honestly, it’s poorly designed. When I put my phone there, it slides off and stops charging while I’m driving.

How do I even know if my phone supports wireless charging?

If you have a case on it, take it off and place your phone on top of the charging pad. If it charges, the screen should light up, showing it’s charging. The car needs to be running for it to work. You can also Google your phone model + wireless charging to check.

What phone do you have?
Mine is full of change.
That’s where I keep my gum since it stays cool in the summer and prevents it from melting.
That wireless charger actually has a motor inside it to position the coil to charge your phone.
