I just bought a 2009 Camry LE with 212,000 miles. It’s a one-owner car, and I paid $2,500. It needs brake pads replaced and some alignment work. Was this a fair price?
Hard to say until a mechanic takes a look at it. Could be fine, could have hidden issues.
I got my 2009 Camry for $6,500, but it only had 84,000 miles and was well-maintained. If yours just needs brakes and alignment, $2,500 isn’t bad. Maybe try to negotiate it down to $2,000 so you can use the rest for repairs.
@Jones
With proper maintenance, how long can I expect it to last?

If it’s in decent condition now, you could probably get it to 250,000 miles. If you’re extra careful and keep up with maintenance, maybe even 300,000 miles, but that’s not guaranteed.

I’d suggest getting it checked by a trusted mechanic before finalizing the deal. You could ask the seller to meet you at the shop.

Is it the 4-cylinder or the V6?

I think it’s the 4-cylinder, but I’m not 100% sure.
@Dayton
Could be either. The LE and SE trims had both engine options available in 2009.

What’s the price of similar cars in your area? That could give you a better idea if you overpaid or not.
I’ve got a 2006 XLE with 340,000 miles, so you might have plenty of life left in yours!
I just paid $5,000 for a 2009 SE with 188,000 miles. Sounds like you got a decent deal compared to me.
Depends on the condition and whether it has the oil burning issue. If it doesn’t, $2,500 could be alright.
