Are the 2025 models better in AWD compared to the older ones?
Even though it’s just electric AWD and there’s no driveshaft connecting the rear wheels to the engine, my 2024 has handled winter really well. A few times, I saw the AWD gauge show full power going to the rear to help me out (and don’t worry, I know better than to floor it in the snow).
Also, like someone else pointed out, it does send enough power to the rear to move it around when needed. I didn’t expect that, since the rear motor isn’t super powerful.
The 2021-2025 models all use electric AWD, where the engine and electric motors power the front, and only an electric motor drives the rear. Before 2021, the engine powered both the front and rear with a driveshaft connecting them.
I get a little more (fun) oversteer in my 2024 compared to my 2012. Who says minivans can’t drift?

My 2021 AWD averages 10L/100km in the winter. No complaints here!
@Merrill
Wait, what’s that in Freedom Units?
(Just kidding, I can still do the math lol)
@Merrill
23.5 mpg.
