Does the 2025 Supra Really Support Android Auto… or Not?

Hey everyone,I just got my hands on this amazing car today, and I’m loving it so far. But I’m confused about something. Everywhere I read, it said the 2025 model should have Android Auto.But when I plug in my Galaxy, nothing. No options, no settings, only Apple CarPlay. We only have one trim option here, and it’s supposed to come with everything. Did Toyota just forget to add Android Auto or what?Anyone else dealing with this? Appreciate any help!

I don’t think it ever had Android Auto. Everything I’ve read says it only supports Apple CarPlay.

Yeah, I’ve seen some articles saying it does. Guess I can’t trust everything I read online.

No Supra has Android Auto. iDrive 6 didn’t have it. iDrive 7 does, but we didn’t get that—why? No one knows.Your options:- AAIDrive: Not a real Android Auto replacement, but adds useful features like better Spotify integration. Needs the Supra Connect app.- MMI Device: Sits behind the infotainment system, acts like an HDMI switch for Android Auto. No touchscreen, only works with iDrive controls. Needs some coding and dashboard disassembly to install. I use this one, works well: https://a.co/d/gBXKHhe

So this MMI thing is basically an Android Auto box? Any issues with it? I had a similar one in my Benz, but it kept disconnecting every 10-30 minutes.

I’ve been using the BimmerTech Android Auto box, no problems. Wireless connection. Just hold ‘Menu’ to switch between it and the car system. Set one of your presets to ‘AUX’—that’s the channel the box uses.

@Lucypiper
Good to know, thanks! Checked their website, but when I enter my VIN, nothing happens. Should I just pick the option that says ‘All BMW/MINIs (except i3) for ID5/ID6’?Also, do you need Supra Connect or Toyota Connect to use it? Neither seems to work in my region.

@Jason
I bought my car used and never bothered with the Toyota apps.

Works fine for me. Sometimes the screen flickers, but it comes back. No touchscreen, though, which is annoying.

@Neely
Yeah, looks like Supra Connect isn’t even supported here. The manual mentions Toyota Connect, but I don’t think that works with Supras either…

Nowhere does it say this car has Android Auto. It’s only got Apple CarPlay.

The dealer I bought mine from listed ‘Supports Apple CarPlay/Android Auto’ in one line. I already knew it didn’t have Android Auto, so I figured they just lumped them together for marketing.

I actually bought my first iPhone just because of this car…

That’s a serious move, haha. I’m not switching, but I might leave an old iPhone in the car just for CarPlay. Or maybe I’ll go for the MMI Android box.

Quick question—are you using your iPhone wirelessly or plugged in? Can you even use wired CarPlay in this car?

@Jason
It’s wireless. There’s a USB port, but I just use it for charging.

That’s what I was afraid of. Guess I’d need a separate SIM for the iPhone since I can’t use CarPlay with hotspot tethering.

My old Supra didn’t have CarPlay or Android Auto, so I just mounted this to the center air vents: https://a.co/d/4SnWmSe. If you get a short USB-C cable, you can tuck it neatly on the side. Works fine.

@Ripley
Oh yeah, forgot about that option. I’ll check it out.

I’ve got a 2025 model on order, and I’ve seen some places say it has Android Auto now, but no one can actually confirm it.
