Does this headlight pattern look normal?

My 2020 LE was in the body shop after my wife scraped the bumper on a parking stop. I don’t remember the headlights looking like this before. The left beam mostly hits the center of my garage door, but there’s a sharp line near the top that makes it look like something is cutting the beam off to the side. I adjusted the height and the pattern moved up with it.

It’s not super obvious on the garage door, but out on the road it shows as a big dark square about 100 feet ahead, just next to the yellow line.

I went back to the body shop today and they said they’d check it. I did notice they used an aftermarket headlight. There’s also a small gap difference — around a quarter inch — between the new headlight and the hood, compared to the other side.

Can anyone post a photo of their headlights on a garage door so I can compare? This aftermarket one seems a bit off.

Thanks!

I think that little tab on the driver’s side is normal. It’s supposed to help avoid shining into oncoming traffic. My 2019 XSE has always looked off to me too, but I read that’s how it’s meant to be. Made me stop stressing about it.

My 2019 Camry XSE is the same way. Never had any damage or anything.

Appreciate the fast reply. I don’t know if it’s always been like this or if I’m just noticing it more now that it was repaired.

Same thing on my 2022. I was told — and read online — it’s normal. It’s there so you don’t blind people coming the other way. I’ve seen it on other brands too. I rent a lot of cars for work and notice it often.

My 2025 has that same tab. It drives me crazy too.

Not gonna lie, I’m avoiding checking mine now lol.

It’s built that way so you don’t blind people coming the other direction.
